At Poole Runners we are immensely proud of our club and boast some of the best local runners. We have won the Dorset Road Race League for the past three years. We're not just about competing though, we warmly welcome all ages and abilities, from our African International, to beginners just attemting to run for the first time. Whatever your ambition, we have qualified coaches who will help and
support you all the way.

Our club has a thriving social agenda, from our Wednesday training, apres-run, in the bar or Friday night runs centred on local pubs to trips to World Wide Marathons. We also have regular organised walks around our wonderful countryside. If it involves the great outdoors and some exercise, we're interested.

We take anyone from 8 years and over

We were all new runners once and completely understand you being nervous about turning up to that first meeting at a new club. So please have a wander around our site and see what we get up to in our "leisure" time. You never know, you might enjoy it.

Saturday mornings: We practice jumping, running and throwing events. These sessions are aimed at the beginner or developing athelete
and the emphasis is on having fun. Juniors from the age of 8 years old are invited to come along to Lockyers School in Corfe Mullen from 10:00 till 11:45am, just turn up!
The Tuesday session is for either distance running or sprinting. In the summer and good weather we meet at Lockyers but mainly train on Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground. In Winter the school hall is used for conditioning training and the distance runners move to road running in the Corfe Mullen and Broadstone areas.
On Thursdays we train at Ashdown track.
6pm to 7pm: field events; jumping, throwing and hurdling.
7pm to 8pm: we concentrate on sprint, middle and distance running.

We try to vary sessions to make them interesting and structure them to the athletes personal training.
